Nelux AB (Swedish org. number 559501-0850) is the data controller for Maydan. I am Fuaad, I run the company, built the site, and I am the only one who ever sees your details. Here is exactly what is saved and why.
What I save
Your email address. It is the only thing I ask for, and the only thing I need to contact you about Maydan.
A hashed version of your IP address. Not the address itself, just a value that tells me whether ten signups came from the same place, to stop cheating.
The language you visited the site in, which city you said you are in, and whether you answered sister or brother. Gender is optional and is never shown to any other member.
Which age bracket you chose, for example 25–34. Optional, and only ever in a range, never your exact date of birth.
Your referral code and who, if anyone, referred you, so the waitlist works.
The time you joined.
Why a signup is sensitive data
Maydan is aimed at Muslims in Sweden. That means the mere fact of your address being in my database reveals something about your faith, even though I never ask about it directly. I treat the whole list as sensitive data, not as an ordinary mailing list.
Signing up counts as your explicit consent for me to store your details and contact you about exactly this: Maydan. Nothing else.
Statistics for future advertisers
Maydan may later sell ad space in the app, for example to employers or halal restaurants. If it does, I may produce aggregated, anonymised statistics from the signups, for example how many people joined in a city, or what the overall gender split looks like.
That statistics never includes your email address, your name, or anything that can be linked back to you as an individual. I never hand your individual signup to a third party.
What I never do
I never sell the list. I never import addresses here from anywhere else, and I never merge it with any other list.
One single person, me, has access to your details.
Where the information lives
The database runs on Supabase in Stockholm.
Emails are sent through Resend. Resend logs emails in the US regardless of which region sends them, so a copy of the email's content (not your confirmation link, that is already used) passes through there briefly.
Your rights
You can delete yourself right here on this page, no waiting and no email to write. If you just want to see or change something, write to salam@maydan.se.
Delete me
I do not recognise you in this browser. Enter your email and I will send you a link that logs you back in here, then you can delete yourself right away.
