Find your people,
in your city.
Maydan is the app where Muslims in Sweden see what's happening near them, create their own groups, and actually meet. Sisters and brothers apart. We start in Stockholm, the app comes this fall.
Free. Confirm your email and you get my list of 400+ remote-job sites.
Built especially for you if you're new in town, reverted, or don't know anyone yet.

From the waitlist
Here is what people want to do
Each person wrote what they want to do. Others in the same city filter by topic and join in. Nobody has to invite you.
On Facebook it would have drowned in the feed. In a WhatsApp group you cannot get in without knowing someone. Here you just say it.
Eating together after Friday prayer.

Looking for four other people who work from home for a fixed coffee break mid week, same time every time so it actually happens.

Have questions about running a business as a Muslim in Sweden. Looking for someone who has done it and can answer honestly.

What Maydan makes room for
Five kinds of rooms, always one for sisters and one for brothers.
Meetups
See who's meeting in your city and count yourself in.
Your city
Questions
Ask anything, get an answer without being remembered.
All of Sweden
Jobs
Jobs from members, never from a recruiter.
All of Sweden
Hijrah
What it cost, what went wrong, from those who already moved.
All of Sweden
Food & shopping
Halal, prayer rooms and meat, near you.
Your city
Meetups and questions first. The rest once those two actually work in one city.
The newsletter
One email with open jobs and what's coming up, the week I have enough to fill it with.
The first meetup
Saturday 3 October 2026 · Stockholm
- I talk about Maydan, briefly.
- Mingling. That is really the whole point.
- Food, on me.
- Q&A and workshop: what is missing, what I should build first.
The Stockholm venue lands two weeks before. I want to know how many are coming first, so there is enough room and enough food.
In Gothenburg or Malmö? You join over Zoom the same day. The link is emailed to you beforehand.
The in-person meetup is for brothers. If you are a sister and want to run the same thing, write to me and we will do it together.
Somewhere else in the country? Reply to the email with your city and yours is next.
How I build for safety
Sisters should be able to join without hesitating.
Brothers and sisters never share a room
You choose for yourself when you join. I never build a mixed room, and if someone lies about their answer, that is a permanent ban the day it is found out.
Nobody can seek you out
No private messages, no profiles to browse. You find people by joining something you already want to do, never by anyone searching through people.
A human reads every report
Something gets reported, I read the whole conversation before deciding anything. Not just an algorithm.
Stockholm first
Maydan starts in Stockholm. I'd rather build one city dense enough to actually feel alive than a thin list across the whole country.
Sign up wherever in the country you live. Every friend you bring moves you up the list, and your city closer to launch.
- 1 friendYou get in the same day, in the same city.
- 3 friendsYou get in with the first group in your city.
- 5 friendsYou get to say what I build next, and I answer you myself.
Cities right now
Stockholm needs 8 more before I set a first meetup there.
Jakobsberg needs 9 more before I set a first meetup there.
Common questions
What is Maydan, in one line?+
An app for everyday Muslim life in Sweden. You see what is happening in your city and can join in, and you can ask questions and get answers from people who have been where you are. Built especially for you if you just arrived, work from home, or reverted and are starting over.
Is it a dating app?+
No. Maydan is for everything else. If you are looking for marriage, there are other places for that.
I do not speak Swedish yet. Can I still use it?+
Yes. Maydan works in English from day one, and you can filter for things happening in English. Not speaking Swedish is one of the main reasons people end up isolated here, so I am not going to make that worse.
What does it cost?+
Joining is free, and the core stays free. If something costs money later I will say so upfront, never after you have put time in.
Who sees my details, and how do I reach you?+
Only me, and your email is only used to contact you about Maydan. I never sell it, and you can delete yourself whenever you want. If you are wondering something: message me on WhatsApp or email salam@maydan.se, it is me, Fuaad, who answers.
The app does not exist yet.
The waitlist does.
No one should have to be alone as a Muslim in a new city.
